Membership is open to all the staff and the students of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), City campus.
All Government / University holidays will be observed as holidays.

Books are issued within the issue limit of the membership category Members’ ID card should be presented at the time of issue Members should get the documents duly issued at the circulation counter Members are responsible for all the books issued on their cards Journals, Reference Books and Question papers will not be issued for circulation. These are for reference only.
Additional two books shall be issued to those students who are secure a CGPA of 8.5. The HODs can recommend the student list to the library through the Director. All final year student members should get a “No Dues Certificate” (NoC) from the Librarian. The Course Completion / Mark Sheet, Degree Certificate will be given only on producing of the NoC. Similarly, the staff members who intend to leave the University should settle all the dues including the ID cards and obtain a “No Dues Certificate” (NoC) from Librarian.

Books should be returned within the due date mentioned on the Due Date Slip.
Books can be renewed twice for 15 days if there is no reservation against the particular books. Books have to be presented physically at the circulation counter for their renewal.

The members should report to the library immediately, if he or she loses a particular book and it should be replaced with a new one along with a levy of overdue charges if any. In case the member is unable to replace the books which are lost, he or she will be levied a penalty three times the cost of the book plus the overdue charges.
The members should report to the library immediately, if he or she loses the ID card. The duplicate ID card will be issued by the ID Card Dept. on payment of Rs. 1000/- by demand draft (DD) in favour of, “SRMIST”.
Library has around 22022 volumes of books consisting of 5505 titles which include Reference Books, Handbooks, Dictionaries and Encyclopedias.
Library has around 877 subject CDs covering Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Management and Science and Humanities.
The Library has 107 national journals / magazines covering the following branches :-
