Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tambaram, Chennai

Outreach programme is an initiative from SRM Institute of Science and Technology to connect with students directly. Our main aim is to educate the students about the importance of studying Engineering and different disciplines in Engineering domain . We conducted a school outreach programme in Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Tambaram, Chennai-78.Five competitions like drawing, essay writing, elocution, face painting, and junk art  was conducted for the students from 7th std – 9th std. We started the event at 11 am by greeting their principal Mrs. Ramani George with a bouquet and a memento. Essay writing was conducted first among the students from 11 am – 11:30 am with 141 student participants followed by elocution from 11:30 am- 1 pm with 44 participants. After a short break, we continued with junk art from 1 pm to 2 pm with a count of 38 students, and finally, drawing/painting and face painting were conducted simultaneously with a total count of 54 students from 2-2:45 pm. After the completion of all the events, our own faculty  selected the winners and runners-up, and the winner and runner-up were awarded mementos and certificates, and participation  certificates were distributed to all the students. The event was filled with great enthusiasm and active participation among the students. We had a nostalgic and a very entertaining experience along with the school students. We ended the event by presenting a bouquet to Mrs. Vidhyavati who helped us with all the arrangements and thanked the principal for providing us with such an opportunity. This entire program was organized and conducted by our faculty coordinator Mrs.V.Bhuvaneswari and Mr. Rathina Kumar accompanied us and helped us with everything.11 students from third years Ms.Keerthana,Mr Varun Kumar,Mr Aditya Prasanna Nair,Mr Rahul Kanna,Ms Sruthy,Mr Jeynitish,Mr Dinesh Babu,Mr Rohith Krishna,Mr Maadeshwaran,Mr Nishanth,Mr Darshan coordinated successfully and helped the teachers in organizing the entire event.
