About Department

The Faculty of Management (FoM) at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Vadapalani Campus, established in 2009, has consistently upheld high standards in teaching and learning, fostering a dynamic and robust academic environment.

FoM holds a prestigious membership with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is currently progressing through the accreditation process, reflecting its commitment to global standards in management education.

Guided by the university’s vision and mission mantra, “Move up, accomplish, attract, build people” the Faculty of Management (FoM) at SRMIST Vadapalani Campus shapes future leaders through its suite of postgraduate programs. Established in 2009, the MBA in Business Administration (2 years) cultivates versatile managers from diverse backgrounds including humanities, commerce, and engineering, with opportunities for industry-sponsored students to gain practical exposure. The MBA in Banking and Financial Services (2 years), introduced in 2023, equips students with specialized skills to meet the growing demands of the finance sector. The MBA for Working Professionals (2 years), also launched in 2023, offers flexible weekend classes and an industry-aligned curriculum, enabling professionals to enhance managerial and leadership capabilities while continuing their careers.

The Faculty of Management Studies (FOM) at SRMIST Vadapalani Campus has been committed to provide an engaging and enriching learning experience. From its early days, the campus has emphasized a blend of academic rigor and practical exposure, supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure. Programs Offered

The MBA program is tailored meticulously, keeping in mind industry dynamics and the ever-changing economic scenario. SRMIST Vadapalani, MBA, is a two-year, semester-based (4 semesters) program with industry internships resulting in a structured project at the end of each year. Global Immersion Program

Global Immersion Program - Malaysia

The Faculty of Management (MBA), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus, successfully organized the Global Immersion Program – Malaysia from 21st February 2024 to 25th February 2024 for MBA and BBA students. The program was conducted at Taylor’s University and Portman University, Malaysia, with the objective of providing international academic exposure, industry-oriented learning, and cross-cultural understanding to students. A total of 45 MBA and BBA students actively participated in the five-day immersion program under the guidance of Dr. Sasirekha (Dean) and Dr. M. Karthikeyan.

The program commenced on Day 1 with academic sessions and seminars at Taylor’s University focusing on contemporary management techniques, leadership, strategic management, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and global business practices. Interactive discussions and case-study-based learning enabled students to understand management perspectives within ASEAN and international business environments.

On Day 2, students participated in research paper presentations covering emerging domains such as artificial intelligence in business, fintech, digital marketing, sustainability, business analytics, and HR innovation. Faculty experts and international speakers, including Ms. Wilson and Dr. Rex Bacarra, shared valuable insights on leadership, motivation, career growth, and industry trends, inspiring students through their professional experiences and success stories.

Day 3 featured an educational city tour across Kuala Lumpur, where students visited iconic landmarks including the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, and Batu Caves. The visits provided exposure to tourism management, urban development, cultural diversity, and Malaysia’s economic growth.

On Day 4, students explored Putrajaya, Malaysia’s administrative capital, and gained insights into governance, sustainable urban planning, public administration, and smart city concepts through visits to Perdana Putra and Putra Mosque.

The program concluded on Day 5 with visits to Genting Highlands and heritage destinations, where students learned about hospitality management, tourism economics, heritage conservation, and entrepreneurship.

Overall, the Global Immersion Program significantly enhanced students’ academic exposure, global outlook, research orientation, cultural awareness, and professional confidence, making it a highly enriching and memorable international learning experience.

Global Immersion Program - Dubai

The Faculty of Management (MBA), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus, successfully organized the Global Immersion Program – Dubai from 15th September 2025 to 21st September 2025 for MBA students. The international academic immersion program was conducted at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Dubai Campus with the objective of providing students with global exposure in management education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural learning. A total of 65 MBA students actively participated in the six-day program, gaining valuable international academic and industrial exposure.

The program commenced on Day 1 with an orientation and briefing session conducted at the DSO University Residence, Dubai, where students were introduced to the planned activities, academic expectations, and program guidelines. The day concluded with an educational city tour covering major landmarks including Dubai Mall, The Pointe, Deira Market, and Gold Souk, offering students exposure to Dubai’s commercial and cultural landscape.

On Day 2, students actively participated in research paper presentations focusing on contemporary topics such as artificial intelligence in business, fintech, digital marketing, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and business analytics. Expert sessions delivered by international academicians and industry professionals, including Ms. Hieke Wilson and Dr. Rex Bacarra, provided insights into retail management, leadership, innovation, motivation, and global business practices.

Day 3 included a practical workshop at the Apple Store, Mall of Emirates, where students received hands-on training in portrait photography and digital creativity. This was followed by an academic visit to NASDAQ Dubai, where students gained insights into stock trading, exchange mechanisms, and financial market operations. The day concluded with a visit to Global Village, enabling students to experience multicultural business environments and international consumer markets.

On Day 4, students participated in a live industry-based “Pet Project,” where they analyzed marketing, branding, and sales challenges faced by a Dubai-based pet care business. Students conducted field visits, market analysis, and mentoring discussions to propose strategic business solutions.

Day 5 featured an educational tour of Heriot-Watt University Dubai and a visit to the In5 Innovation Centre, where students learned about startup incubation, innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship support, and practical learning methodologies. The day concluded with a desert safari experience showcasing Dubai’s tourism and hospitality culture.

The program concluded on Day 6 with student presentations on projects, vlogs, and field activities, followed by certificate distribution and valedictory sessions. Overall, the Global Immersion Program significantly enhanced students’ academic exposure, global outlook, research orientation, professional confidence, and experiential learning capabilities.
